Tell me again it’s about the kids, redux

"It was tough knowing that we might not have our coach, but everyone really wanted to play," Matt Brady, a senior co-captain, said. "We have a lot of seniors on the team this year and really wanted to play."
Brady is one of eight seniors on the Crosby-Ironton boys basketball team, which is scheduled to play Blackduck on Thursday in the Class 2A subsection. He and his teammates voted to play in this week’s tournament despite a 21-day teacher’s strike (does that make them “scabs“?).

Pay and retiree health benefits are the major strike issues according to the Pioneer Press (which no doubt explains the many Crosby-Ironton picket signs waving among the crowd at the Capitol Education Rally “for the kids“).

The girls basketball team forfeited its tournament game last week because of the strike.

Now tell me again how this is about the kids?
